PORQUEROLLES
:
The biggest island of the archipelago (1254 hectares,
7 km long, 2.5 km wide, with signal station at the highest
point, 142 m above sea level) is a protected site managed
by the Port Cros National Park. With 54 km of footpaths,
Porquerolles is a walker’s and biker’s paradise.
There are beautiful fine sand beaches, bordered with
pine trees, cliffs and a pretty Provençal village.
A visit to the National Mediterranean Botanical Conservatory
is highly recommended. Sainte Agathe Fort (with tour,
viewpoint). Submarine archaeology exhibition.
PORT-CROS :
The only maritime national park in Europe (the Port
Cros National Park founded in 1963), Port Cros is the
smallest of the archipelago's islands, but also the
most rugged and hilly (650 hectares, 4 km long, 2.5
km wide, highest point 194 m above sea level at Mont
Vinaigre). The island is visited on foot or by bike,
along the 354 km of nature trails which lead you to
unspoilt spots, to the beach, to coves and to forts
(Moulin, l'Estissac, l'Eminence, Port-Man and la Vigie),
important landmarks in Port Cros' history.

- guided diving tour of submarine botanical trail
(from June to September)
- diving bottle refill station
LE LEVANT :
World famous naturist centre. The ideal spot for a
cure of sea and sun with its jagged red rocks and
luminous water. Only 85 hectares (Héliopolis)
of the island's 900 hectares are open to the public.
20 kms of which can be explored via the Domaine des
Arbousiers' (a voluntary nature reserve) footpaths.
